Board Priorities for the 2024-25 School Year

We have two main priorities for this upcoming year that we view as foundational to more effective SEPAC engagement and advocacy:

Objective 1: Build Parent and Student Community

What this looks like:

  1. Regularly-held, supportive, and educational meetings that are safe, confidential, and effective at building a community and identifying themes across disabilities, schools, and needs among the parents and students in Duxbury

  2. Empower Duxbury parents by sharing information through our Google group, website, and revamped social media, and holding at least 2 educational events

  3. Build subcommittees (by disability type or issue groups) to grow SEPAC presence and help other parents do similarly by providing a roadmap; for this year our aim is to start with one subcommittee.

  4. Ask students how they might like to build community and grow their voice.

Objective 2: Grow SEPAC’s role as advisor to School Committee and School Administration

What this looks like:

  1. SEPAC is in regular communication with Director of Special Education and School Committee Representatives

  2. Needs Assessment

  3. Operationalize collaboration so that processes are in place to track feedback to action taken and student outcome.
